2023-06 President´s Report
The past year on Pînada Golf has been one of returning to normality after the traumas of covid. In fact it´s been a model of stability compared to the government of the UK, but that´s not difficult.
Unfortunately we still have a number of owners who have not paid their community fees. The list of debtors is down to one page, compared to three or more a few years ago. The lockdown due to covid has made things hard for many people and the administrators have tried to be sympathetic, but there are some with no excuse, and especially those who rent out their properties, who continually owe large amounts and cynically pay off a small sum to delay court proceedings, or promise to pay off a regular amount each month and then stop after a couple of payments. I appeal to those owners, you know who you are, to be fair to the vast majority who pay their fees, and cough up. Our finances are in pretty good shape at the moment and we see no need to increase the fees, despite inflation and the fact that they´re amongst the lowest around.
Last year we changed our pool maintenance company and I hope you´ll agree that the pool and its surroundings and the other two green areas are looking very good. To do our bit to support the green movement we´ve even painted the pool gates green. Every little bit helps as they say.
I would like to thank our administrators OCSI, especially Helene, Javier and Lara for their continued help and advice, and also thank Barry, Russell and Maria for serving on the committee and acting as a sounding board, particularly Barry, who continues to go to the toilet most mornings to clean the ones in the pool area.
We have had thefts of meter cupboard doors and post box doors. Some have been replaced but unforunately we´re still waiting for the ones that face the main road.
We´ve also refurbished the petanca court so please feel free to have a game. There have been discussions about replacing the post boxes, but this would be very expensive, quite apart from the logistics of supplying new keys to owners. Not everyone uses their post box, so if yours is broken let OCSI know and they´ll get it repaired.
One thing that spoils the urbanisation is the increasing amount of rubbish that is dumped beside the refuse bins. Some people are either too lazy or too stupid to put their rubbish in the bins. I have seen scraps of food, drinks cartons and worse just emptied in the road. If you have something to get rid of that is too large to go in the bin, leave it there but contact the council at This email address is being protected from spambots. It´s encouraging to know that there have been a lot people interested in buying property on Pinada Golf 2 and it´s gratifying to hear people say how nice the urbanisation is looking. I hope in the coming year we all can make it even better.
